Founded in 1999 as the Cuesta Guitar Circle, the group became the CCGS in 2004 when La Guitarra California in which the Cuesta circle was heavily involved moved to Santa Maria. CCGS has been a sponsor of many major guitar events locally, and the scholarship gives great thanks to all the players and members of the society for its support.
